Dr. Melinda Nish, has been serving as the Executive Advisor to the President and the Acting Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs since August 2016.  During this time, Dr. Nish has helped lead the College to regaining full accredited status, as well as obtaining approval from the Accrediting Commission for Junior and Community Colleges for new programs and degrees, which include the Marine Sciences Certificate, the Advanced Specialization Certificate in Deaf Education, the Advanced Specialization Certificate in Severe Disabilities Education, and the Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.  This is the first four-year degree to be offered by the College and marks a significant milestone in the development of quality academic access to the Marshallese people.
