Introduction
In 2019, CMI began a new system for program review. FACETS stretched the program review process across three years with every department having a specific task to complete each semester. CMI has completed two cycles following the program review process. The new ADAPT cycle will retain the strengths of the FACETS cycle, such as ensuring separation between data planning, data gathering, and drawing conclusions from that data, while also addressing key lessons learned from the two cycles of FACETS, including the need to:
● align program review with other college planning and assessment processes
● involve supervisors and administrators throughout the process
● ensure data plans are well-developed and include disaggregation
● have all programs on the same timeline to reduce tracking challenges for the Institutional
Research and Assessment department
Though the acronym is different and the cycle slightly shortened, the main fields and requirements for FACETS will largely remain the same.
Cycle and Timeline
The new PR system has four one-semester phases, with a one semester break in between cycles to allow for catch up and implementation. Thus, two cycles will take place during the length of time covered by the college’s mid-length Wapepe plans. The initial cycle will start during the fall semester of 2025.

Details of New Cycle
- The sections below explain in detail what each responsible party should do during each phase of the ADAPTS program review process
ADministrators set assessment requirements
- Each administrator, following consultation with their direct reports, will submit to the
Institutional Effectiveness Committee a table showing the following information for all programs in their area of responsibility:
| Program Name | Department Head | Program Type | Outcomes Assessment | Required Stakeholder Data | Benchmarks |
| Programs required to complete program review are listed in Appendix I | Name of person responsible for program review | Instructional, student and learning support, or administrative | For instructional or student and learning support, describe expectations for disaggregation of assessment data. Assessment plans will be developed by the department head. For administrative programs, the assessment plan should be included. All outcomes must be disaggregated by at least one factor. | What data should each program, at minimum, gather about its internal and external stakeholders? How should this data be disaggregated? For instructional programs, this data must include enrollment, persistence, and completion data aligned with the institutional KPIs. All programs must complete some form of satisfaction survey. | What are the expected minimum standards and stretch goals for the data to be gathered? |
***The table should be submitted by the midterm of the semester during which it is due. The I.E.C will make suggestions and endorse each submitted table. This table will provide the minimum required data that must be included in each program review***
