Safety and Security Department

Unit Mission Statement

The mission of the Safety and Security department is to provide safe and secure campus facilities, equipment, and an environment, that is conducive to learning, living, and working for the CMI community.

Organizational Chart

Monitor and Reporting

Ensure the safety, welfare, and security of all employees, students, and visitors to the college by providing quality security services.

  • Patrol and monitor the College campuses 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
  • Prepare incident reports and security logs for gathering data and collecting information for reviewing purposes.
  • U.S. Clery Act Reporting.
  • Ensure that all campus equipment, buildings and properties are safe secure at all times.
  • Enforce campus rules and regulations.
  • Assist the Administration with the college mail and distribution center.
  • Providing security services to the students’ residence halls.
  • College events and activities security services.
  • College vehicle monitoring, scheduling and distribution.
  • Lost-and-Found Center.

Emergency Preparedness and Safety Awareness

To assist and support the college in developing, reviewing and implementing an emergency preparedness and safety awareness plans and programs.

  • Assist and support the Plant and Facility Committee in developing and reviewing campus emergency preparedness and safety awareness plans.
  • Coordinate and conduct student’s safety orientations and evacuation drills.
  • Report and disclose incidents timely warnings to the campus community

Staff Training and Support

Develop and maintain a staff training pro‐ gram on areas required to support the college’s mission ensuring a safe and secure campus community.

  • Thieves are just waiting for an opportunity to steal something. Report any suspicious person(s), activities or incidents to the campus security, college officials or the police.
  • Observe campus rules and regulations and report violators immediately to the campus security or college officials.
